A development progress update - Vol. 29
Hi everyone,

first things first: It's the start of a new month, so thank you all for your continuing support!

Second things second: While I'm very thankful that just about no one so far has pressed me for a release date, whenever I make a post like this without mentioning it, I still feel like I'm one of those politicians that 'answers' a question by talking about something else. I guess I can't help but think that the question hovers in the room, even if it's not voiced.

But talking about the lack of a release date also requires talking about the reason for it, which is something I wanted to avoid because it should be irrelevant for you (and I prefer to tune it out as much as possible tbh): Namely the less than stellar financial performance of Estate.

The thing is, when I did my taxes at the beginning of the year, it became impossible to ignore that I won't be able to live from making the game anytime soon, and that I've gone through a decent part of my liquid savings. Which means I will have to pick up side gigs from time to time to keep myself afloat. I'll keep them to the absolute minimum I can get away with, but I worked on a small consulting project in January, and I'll have to do it again in a few months unless the game suddenly picks up. Not a whole lot of side job in the grand scheme of things, still a bump at the time when it happens.

So that's pretty much it. R5 is progressing well and will certainly come out this month, but it's not the quicker release cycle I was shooting for.

A development progress update - Vol. 28
Hi everyone,

short post today: I still need to prepare several more images to fill my render queue for tonight because I remade Bella's ballet studio today and that took longer than planned.

That location was the second I made for the game and it was a bit of a mess. Not so much visually, but in terms of ease of use. Nowadays I have a consistent 'system' to set up locations: How I group furniture so I can quickly toggle parts of it on/off, how I set up the lighting indoors, easily removable walls/ceiling. That sort of thing. I only came up with that while making the original release, so some of the early locations were comparatively awkward to work in.

I'm shooting a scene in the ballet studio atm and it was just too annoying. Done now, only really terrible location left is the kitchen I think. But that one can wait.

Music is also done. The selection at least, it's not in the game yet.

Post work on the images is still ongoing. One thing I forgot to ask after the last release was how happy you were with the body fluids. I rendered some of them, but mostly I painted them in Photoshop. It's something I've been practising on the side and I'm still not particularly good at it. I'm curious if you found them passable. There are alternatives I could look into if you don't.

Well, so much for writing a short post. Need to get back to Daz. There's a bonus Anja wallpaper in the attachment that serves as the current server banner. Hope you like it.

A development progress update - Vol. 26
Hi everyone,

the administrative responsibilities I mentioned last week are over. Well, a few things are still left, but those can wait for a while. So I'm fully back in the development saddle.

The exact progress remains really tough to judge. The script has been finished for a long time, although with a few gaps here and there. Those are places where I need to see how well my planned images work first. I'm also done with the images for all shorter scenes. What's left are the centerpiece-like scenes, which are usually the ones that suddenly need twice as many images as planned, or take a different turn because I have a promising idea. Honestly, it's a struggle every week to try to put this into a few sentences. The whole process of making a game is neither easy to plan, nor to summarize. R5 is still a few weeks away though, that I can say.

The vote from last week is running until the 20th, but at least the second question about in-game notifications should be solved to everyones satisfaction: You can set whether or not you want to see notifications in the preference screen. If you enable them, a small and unobtrusive message fades in whenever you unlock a new image for the non-canon gallery.

The Discord server displays an image as the server banner. It's very small, so I made two simple, single character images that are suited for it. Attached below are larger versions.

Hi everyone,

first of all, thank you for all the advice on how to do the 'bridge scenes' I've talked about last week. I do hope you didn't get the impression there's some kind of big problem with that though. I just have a tendency to write about development related challenges instead of making hype posts I guess.

Anyway, what I really want to say today is: Merry Christmas.

Since Estate : Dominate takes place over the course of the summer, the von Stern family unfortunately won't have a chance to celebrate Christmas in-game. Above is a little snapshot of what it would've looked like. If you think Isabella would test her brand new whip on the MC instead of Anja, the .zip below has you covered.

I'll do some light work on the game over the next couple of days, but for the most part I'll be spending time with my family. At least from the 24th-26th. Depending on how I feel, I might also add a few days of doing nothing at all after Christmas. I haven't taken a day off since the original release 8 months ago, and I usually work 14-16h/day. So far that hasn't bothered me, but lately I've been feeling a bit strained. Well, I'll see how it is after Christmas, but don't be too surprised if my presence is spotty until New Year's.

So, just in case: Thank you for the amazing support throughout the year. I hope you stick with me in the next one too.

I wish you all a wonderful time with your family and your friends. Whether that's for Christmas, or for any of the other great Holidays celebrated this time of year.

Если нет и это просто подчищение, то желательно оставлять и русскую версию.

A dark night at the Estate

The blood curdling scream ripped my dream apart just when I finally reached the door. I guess I will never know what lies behind. Sleep has become a fading memory ever since that cursed night. The night of All Hallows' Eve at Herrenhaus Stern.

When my eyes fluttered open, the sight of Anja's grave face buried the last remnants of my drowsy fantasies.

'Put these on, and follow me.'
Those were her only words. I wish I would not have forced her then to say more. I wish I could have remained oblivious just a few more precious minutes. But the scream that had awoken me was still reverberating through the room like Anja's flickering shadow in the candlelight.

'What about him? We need to-'
'He is already dead.'
I had long run out of bullets and tears by the time we reached the bottom of the stairs. The rifle axe was too unwieldy a melee weapon in the close corridors of the Estate dungeon. Yet, I clung to it like it was my last, desperate hope to hold on to my sanity. Perhaps I should have let go. I probably would have, to tell you the truth. I remember looking at the bloody stake in my hand, thinking it would just as easily go through me as it went through them. But just when I was turning it toward myself, Anja's calm voice turned it away.

'Be ready Heather, the Mistresses require our service.'
And then I got my vengeance.

Шедеврально в ветке доминирования, модели красивы , графика на высоком уровне , образы персонажей раскрыты не доконца и это создает интригу, хочется надеятся , что продолжение все таки будет. Обидно, если нет.
